I LOVE this song. Eric's playing is beautiful.
If you listen closely, underlying the song is an Linn LM-1 drum machine, you can hear the toms thump by, but at the core you can hear the heavy low-pitched snare that was used during the Purple Rain tour, etc.
I think this was a song Eric reworked from the Vault or a live recording from that time with Prince's electric guitar playing in the intro and exposed again in the end.
