  • A rubber or other soft mallet may be handy for getting the pucks to eject..

  • @cephal0p0d

Since this video was made we've learned that removing the center drain tube first allows the briquettes to slide out very easily.

  • bravo from medford oregon. I have made lots of papercrete to for shed building here. I will try to mix our mountains of oak leaves with newspaper to see how well it burns.

  • Shred the leaves and let them compost under black plastic until they breakdown. Then mix them with shredded paper you have soaked for at least several days. Try 60% paper/40% leaves initially. Too much leaves will probably smoke.

    Good luck!

  • very good demonstration, the briquette components are mentioned, the process is easily explained, you are really a well intentioned person, helping the poor and the environment..

  • love this video. my wife and I are making this as I type. thanks for the vid

  • @bradyrose

This is primarily for cooking, not space heating. You are correct that fuel designed primarily for space heating would need to be larger to burn longer.

No this example is using a 2 ton jack and only a 1 ton jack is required.

  • As long as a man keeps on thinking as long youth will be his companion.

    Well done

  • thank you very much very nice and intelligent ideas.....keep up the good work

  • great economical idea, if combined with a rocket stove, think of the possibilities!

  • You brush the wood frame with boiled linseed oil to repel water. If you don't the wood will separate over time.

If you look at the newer YouTube videos we have developed a center drain mold set with a metal base that directs the water away from the wood frame (mainly to be able to recycle more water.) The new mold set is easier to make and improves the briquette making process.
