  • While I think it would be best to drain, then refill, the vast majority of users will simply pump the antifreeze through the cooling system and "push" the water out the exhaust. That's one of the reasons to use a lower temp antifreeze: it allows you a little wiggle room if there is some residual water in the block and cooling passages. Running the engine a little longer will allow a higher concentration of the antifreeze.

  • Do you need to drain the block before you pump the antifreeze in or will all the water come out when you pump the antifreeze in?

  • What is the best decision. Leaving the antifreez inside the motore or glushig it out, thanks?

  • thanks for all the info. but i how do i winterize the carbs on my 1999 johnson 70hp 2 stroke 3 cylinders?

  • This guy kicks ass! great info.

  • I have a question we have a four winns boat but we are not sure on how to winterize could you help us .

  • of course West Marine PRODUCTS! .... I do have a membership card :-| YAY!

  • Thanks for this video.. I'm about to winterize my inboard and this helped me to solidify the process (drain vs antifreeze). While some think this is too complicated, there are even more steps that can be taken to insure proper functioning in the spring. There is cable maintenance and lube as well as oiling down the engine to minimize rust. And one does not have to do this himself, a shop will gladly do it for $400-$600 depending on the amount of work you want done. I love having a boat!

  • I WOULD HATE TO HAVE A BOAT.

  • buy our snake oil and make us rich.
