Twenty years on, Iranians are still paying the ultimate price for Saddam Hussein's use of weapons of mass destruction. A man wheezes as he struggles to fit on an oxygen mask, before coughing and spewing into a metal bowl. Every movement is agony for Sa'adat since he was contaminated by Iraqi choking agents. In the wake of Saddam's 1980s chemical campaign, hundreds of families like Sa'adat's have had to watch relatives undergo agonising deaths.

  • colmmernagh is absolutely correct. The USA backed and supported Saddam's use of chemical weapons.

  • Sad, any way you interpret this, or whoevers fault it is, this is humanity. There should be no lines with humanity, we are all people. Most people do not support the war, I know I don't! poor people!

  • @cyberdaemon

Saddam Hussein was once described by Bush Snr as the "greatest ally America has in the Middle East."

  • @oclandestin US sold those chemical and also biological weapons to Saddam, back in a day Saddam was a great friend of america!

  • Poor People!

  • I do rather wish the segments in Persian were subtitled in English or something, considering that the narration and info are all in English. A number of Journeyman Pictures videos seem to have this problem.

  • @bullmeecham ... lol. I didn't even know you were American, which just goes to show how paranoid you are. Anyone who happens to criticise someone who happens to be American is "anti-American" these days. Grow up. And yes, saying that "most ppl online" re-write history is a total generalisation... and should probably include yourself if you believe it.

  • @oclandestin Since I'm not generalizing, it's not stupid, and since you are generalizing I'm correct. So nothing stupid, you're just anti American. Saddam was supplied by Russia with his WMD's by a vast majority to include his most lethal weapons like freeze dried arsenic. He used them on Kurds, Iranians, and anyone who got in his way. You just 'generalized' and said America backed the use. That is just not true, U.S. never approved it. Typical Euro-dogma & lies. LOL U FAIL.

  • @bullmeecham ... It's a strange irony to say I'm "sorta rewriting history" (when I've done no such thing) while making the stupid generalisation that "most do online it seems".

  • @oclandestin Only against Iran, not against the Kurds. And, while you're sorta rewriting history as most do on line it seems, don't forget, Russia supplied Saddam with the chemical and bio weapons he used most. Including the Russian innovation known as freeze dried arsenic. Of course, none of that changes how sad and horrid this all is.
