One of the very finest pianists of the 20th century. One of that handful of great artists who convince you, while you are listening, that their way of playing the music is the only way - and who make you totally focus on the greatness of the music they are playing. This self-effacing artistry is rare and, which is worse, often unappreciated. Those of us who love great musicianship, however, will recognize palpable greatness and honour her memory and search out her recordings.

its not the first time people forget important teachers.
Another case is Eliane Richepin (1910-1995) who did the same as Mme Lefebure in Paris. Her well known pupils today are Eric Lang, Roger Muraro and Pascal Galet. But her career as pianist was even much more important than Mme Lefebure. But very few of her recordings were distributed as she never signed a contract with a big distribution company. seh appeard more than 3000 times in public and won the rome prize in composition.
Edwin Fischer egalement.
