A second/third option escape from the mount. It's not the highest percentage escape, but it might offer hope when the regular, high percentage escapes fail, and sometimes can create openings for you to use the high percentage escapes when your opponent reacts to it.

  • As a cautionary note, I just popped Brandon's knee with this very move yesterday. We were going very slow and light and the move was applied with caution and it still caused a slight sprain in his knee.

Good news is, the move works and Brandon's knee seems to be relatively o.k. But please, be careful and respectful of your partner when using this move.

I did notice that Brandon was wearing wrestling shoes this time around and we both think that, that had an effect on how things went down.

  • Very unconventional - never saw that before. Thanks for the great tutorial!

  • How about another cautionary note. Don't wear jewelry while training. You can seriously injure yourself or your training partners. Great video otherwise.

  • OR you could just elbow him in the balls, OR crush his balls with your hand!!

  • Hmm I tried various attacks on the ankle to cause a disruption this one probably works 1 in 10 times, as most of us when bridged forward hook high on the shin ordrop hips back with ankles under arse, making this very difficult, but any waze is worth a try if they have a good base.

  • This is why I love Jiu-jitsu :)

  • wow thats pure genius i neva would hav thought of that in a million years

  • if he lifts his leg instead of turning or tapping couldn't you just swim his leg almost like going for the electric guitar sweep and get up?

  • Watch your training partners lads! I just got my knee popped last night. I've had an ultrasound and x-ray today which have shown only a strain. I was lucky. DON"T DO THIS IN TRAINING!! It's not much fun putting a friend out for up to 12 months with a dick move like this. Save it for comps!

  • That is very slick..

  • Epic voice crack 1:10

  • This move really works, Ive used it twice to tap out bigger and better opponents, and my bjj game is ok at best, so someone with a decent game can use it if they wind up getting mounted.

  • @TakingItToTheMMAT Lol, glad you have a sense of humor. I really like this move by the way.
