we landed in the coutyard as quietly as we could and ran down the hall back to the broom closet.
i set both our brooms in it and stepped out of the closet, closing the door with a small click.
"can a trust you potter?" demetria whispered, staring at me intensely with her piercing blue eyes.
"with your soul" i replied back without hesitation.
she smiled and threw her arms around me giving me a warm hug.
i hugged her tightly back, as if this was our trustbond.
"HAWTHRONE!"
suddenly she whipped away from me faster that you could say 'wow'
"draco, uh"
"what are you DOING?" he asked, he was standing at the end of the hall staring at the both of us, wand in his left hand.
"i-i.."
she couldnt explain she had just told me her biggest secret and couldnt tell draco what she was doing or else..the worst.
"i was thanking her" i said to him as he began to slowly walk towards us.
"thanking her for what, potter?" he asked saying my name nastily.
"keeping my secret"
"and what would that secret be?" he asked in a curious tone.
"i cant tell you" i said to him in a 'duhh' tone.
"and why would you be telling hawthorne a secret?" he asked looking at her then back to me.
"i didnt tell her, she figured it out. and she said she wouldnt tell anyone" i looked over at demetria for a reassuring look about my 'secret'.
"and i told him he owed me one" she said and gave me an 'your lucky im nice enough' look that was convincing enough that i even believed it.
"your lucky hawthornes a nice person potter, if i knew your little secret it be around the school before you could pull out your wand" draco said giving me a slye smile.
i almost sighed of relieve, he bought it.
"lets go back to the common room shall we draco?" demetria asked him and grabbed him by the arm, probley before he could ask anymore questions.
"most defiantly doll face" he said back to her and they began to walk down the opposite way of the way we had come from the courtyard, towards the slytherins house.
i watched them as they walked down the hallway. malfoy muttered something to her and she giggled, a second later they began to run down the hall and turned the corner.
i sighed and began to walk the opposite way, i had a long walk through the halls back to the dining hall and i began to wonder.
did demetria really like me? or was it for her own gain? did i really like her? or was it because she was something new?
did she really like draco? or was she only into him because he was going to be a death eater with her? did he really like her?
suddenly i turned a corner and almost ran into hermione and ron as they were coming down the hall.
"harry! where have you been?"
"uh, sorry guys, i was just on my way back to the dining hall"
"mate, dinners over, it has been for an two hours now, its nearly midnight" ron said to me giving the same worried look as hermione was.
"we came looking for you when you didnt show up at the common room" hermione said, then tilted her head, "have you..have you been flying?"
damn, shes good.
"uh, why would you say that?" i asked, playing it cool.
"your face is pale, and ur hair is wild and windswept like it always is after you fly" she said, and crossed her arms waiting for an answer.
"why would i be flying at this time a night?" i asked scratching the back of my head and looked down at my shoes.
"i dont know, you tell us" ron asked.
"guys," i said and looked up, giving them a pleading look, "i cant tell you. if i do, theres a possibility that i could die, you guys just have to trust me, and let it go"
there was a pause for a moment as they stared at me, "alright" they said at the same time, then looked at each other with worried glances.
"come on, lets get back before we get into any trouble"
or anymore trouble i should say.
i turned around and started to walk towards the gryffindor common room listening to the clack of our shoes as we walked in the silence of the hogwarts night.
