hella people say he is a horrible guitarists.. he is a smokin blue player/vocalist, and he write good tunes.. and if it sounds good to you, then it is.. to each his own.. Im in a metal band, and listen to stuff like this and hip hop more than metal.. keep your mind.. there are plenty of types of music.. keep looking.. you will never stop finding good music

i personally love metal, and i chose this genre over others because of the instrumental talent required to play it as well as the energy that's present when you're playing it. plus i just love the brutality.
but this just sounds so damn good. it's just so beautifully musical and technically complicated, but the concept and structure of john mayer's songs are soo simple. i love it.
