only kicks and punches? that what most watering down tournaments now aday want it that way right? Unfortunately, it's only way to win over thai fighters. So now, What are you complainting about? Watering down the dangerous fighting style into just punches & kicks. Now you're bitching of how boring yod is.

of course thai's score a kick if its blocked, if it wasn't scored its like saying the kick didn't hurt or do anything, people have had their arms broken from blocking kicks, and barely able to hold their guard up to continue a fight. they score damage

No, it isnt. It's kickboxing rules. K1 rules is an adapted version of that to create fights which are more spectacular. TKD is an entirely different game. The big difference with Thai rules is that blocked or missed hits do not score.

And to be honest I don't understand the thai system. Why would you award poor skills by rewarding points for blocked attacks? Finding the openings and being technical enough to do that is what kickboxing is all about.

so k1 rules are like tae kwon do's, doesn't matter how hard you hit? doesn't matter which one's stile or strategy have dominance in the fight? Rules are important when common sense can't decide. Andy won because he wasn't knocked out.

the only things not allowed are multi knee clinches and elbows?...I wouldn't call that watering down muay thai at all.

I think this should put many speculations away on how well Yod would fare in the K1 MAX tourneys. Great Muay Thai fighter, not the best K1 fighter however (my hearts with MT even tho K1 can be entertaining).

Yod clearly lost this fight if you have any knowledge of how they score a fight. Not to mention he just looked tired throughout the whole thing. He is one of my favorite fighters and I don't care for Andy Sower at all, however. he did win this fight. No point talking about what if's, and saying if it was full thai rules and whatever. Don't speculate. Both these fighters knew the conditions of the fight and accepted them, victory went to the one guy with the better game plan and bigger heart.
