Assuming from her modest house and surroundings, I don't see her having a Walmart around the corner or that much spare money to go and buy milk formula for as long as monkeys need milk. The monkey was going to die and she saved it with the resources she had at hand. That's seems pretty kind to me, even if it grosses you out. :3
