Good thing I deleted my Facebook last year. Good riddance. The only stalking people will be doing is to meet me in person, if they dare.

@DunklenHerzen The problem is that if I deleted my facebook I'd have no idea of all the university events going on, and society updates etc. Unless you just have a very close knit social circle (which I'd actually prefer than what we have nowadays, i.e. loads of acquaintances, and very few close friends, for which social networks are almost certainly to blame) then you're basically committing social suicide

I see your point. From my perspective, I had the majority of my Facebook friends' cell phone numbers and email addresses. We socialized when we got together to party so it wasn't committing social suicide at all. In class as well as the parties, I met my old friends and introduced myself to new people. On top of that, I had the university emailing me weekly on events happening on campus. News seems to spread around on campus quickly and there are always posters, texting etc.
