A few Phoenix, AZ paraglider pilots enjoy a Sunday afternoon at Shaw Butte. This site is one of the earliest and most historic central Phoenix sites pioneered by hang glider pilots back in the 70's - 80's. It's now frequently used by a core group of Phoenix paraglider pilots. The terrain is rugged and unforgiving so it's not for the novice. The reward is staying aloft in ridge and thermal lift above the city or getting up there above the antennas and heading east to North Mountain for more beautiful desert scenery.
Wonderful ..Absolutely beautiful...
