Bernadette Peters's version of Not A Day Goes By from Merrily We Roll Along by Stephen Sondheim live from Royal Festival Hall London.
A classic! - I love the glimmer of hope that happens at 3:32.

  • Okay, as an actor, I have to say something about this whole "who is she crying about" business. You don't have to know someone who has died to dig into the character. In your analysis of the song you take the lyrics and the mood set by the music and develop a little story line to get you connected. You flesh out poignant details about the person your character has lost, you allow the story to be full of sensory images and rich circumstances, and your mind goes to that place for you.

  • Most performers dream that someday they can deliver a performance as beautiful and pure as this one. Bernadette Peters seems to deliver more performances like this than many of us will be able to perform in one lifetime. Thank you for being such an amazing inspiration Ms. Bernadette Peters

  • WOW

  • She is so real. Always so emotionally connected to everything she sings. She feels every word, every note. So rare and beautiful

  • @dumdiddly08 Bernadette is sad because she lost her beautiful husband he died too young.. Thought you'd like know

  • she would make an amazing Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd

  • now thats Singing with the Heart!!!!

  • @dumdiddly08 If you think social interactions are structurally based or ''textbook'' then you need to get out into the world and actually interact with other humans. Then you might know that the syntax i was using may not actually be interpreted as condescension but as a mere suggestion. But i guess a god-complexed, arrogant prick like you wouldn't understand that.

  • @lomogo1 You displayed a textbook lack of consideration or forethought with your comment. Others have mistakenly done the same, but yours has a syntax that knowingly implies a condescending tone. Even if he died, actors steer away from using personal life on stage, which is picking a wound: you will get that emotional response once but it will never be as potent again because the brain is a self-preserving organ that blocks pain. Learn something about acting before chastising me

  • @dumdiddly08 Rashly? What? How was that rash. Get over yourself :s

  • @AliaSparrow Nope. As stated previously, he died seven years later.
