  • @LearnedHand007 I just had a look on my 5D2 and it won't allow me to change shutter speed below 1/30th in video mode (24, 25 or 30p in both PAL and NTSC).

You are exposing each frame at the set shutter speed, so it would make sense that you cannot use a shutter speed slower than 1/30th of a second for 30p (1/25th for 25p etc).

I am on slightly older firmware, but I assume the behavior will be the same regardless.

  • @anakoda Did you find out the answer to this question? It seems you can't truly have full manual control of shutter speed unless the camera slows down the fps rate to accommodate. For instance, if you set the shutter speed to being open for a full 1 second exposure, then you could only take video at 1 fps. You can't possibly have 30 fps when each picture frame requires a full 1 second exposure.

  • @p3pictures Another more technical question: If I set the shutter speed to, let's say 15 sec. What happens in Video mode? I mean the image is still captured e.g. 30 times/sec, right?

  • full of crap much?

  • @Anton1987RU ...I do

  • Nikon better for Photo! Sony better for Video! Who needs Canon?

  • @devonmale69 Nothing? Well thanks.

  • @TheMinusTen or use the old firmware that was literally 30 fps even. but pulling pants up is a good idea regardless

  • @ronmancvu a tenth = 1/10 a hundredth = 1/100, you literally just used those terms lol.
