yes,the club is perfectly parallel to the shaft plane at address but where is this new plane pointing to........a spot 4 inches on the other side of the ball? How does that help you? You're trying to hit the ball ,not a spot 4 inchs on the other side.
the clubhead is laid off at the top.See,u need to draw another line from the ball through your shoulders. The clubhead ,the shaft and the back of your wrist and arm need to be flat against the plane descibed by that line.
@gildas2 here's alittle secret, in this swing the club face has to do alot with being on plane also, i am alittle shut after take away and back to square at the top but another key is for the face of the club to be parallel to the plane going up and going down and through at certain points of the swing
His left wrist does not work properly. He's perfectly square at 1:18 but as he moves down he opens his club face as you can see at 2:32. Otherwise the plane is very good.
@plumbtwins You're right. Thats probably why Tigers swing looked so laid off when he was with Hank. He would have been close to 20 majors if he stuck with Butch, in my opinion.
@andreasadler91 This is your opinion and perhaps more mainstream which is fine but Hank Haney would flatten all of these swings. My personal beliefs are for what its worth is that somewhere between parallel to the shaft plane or pointing at target line are acceptable parameters and would not be a concern for me as an instructor.
@andreasadler91 You have to bear in mind that this video is related to the Hank Haney golf school. If you have done any research about how Hank Haney coaches you will know that he relates plane to the original shaft plane through out the swing and does not believe that the target line plays any part in the plane of the swing. Therefore this video is correct IF THAT IS YOUR BELIEF. If however you believe plane is measured against target line ,(HARMON, MCLEAN, LEADBETTER) then this is laid off.
@plumbtwins as you can see at, lets say 0:58, his club should be pointing on the target line, even though his swing doesnt reach parallel at that point, the club should be pointing at the target line. since its obviously pointing outside that line, it means that the club is laid off, even though the club is parallel to the starting position place (red line) it doesnt mean that the club is on plane. I understand how you can think its on plane, but no offense, the club is NOT on plane.
Hit the ball sergio!

@plumbtwins have a look at any other pro golfer who swings it on plane. i.e Adam Scott, Anthony Kim, Sean O'hair, they have great lines.
