Everyone deserves the love expressed in the films of the late, lamented John Hughes.
Children especially deserve to learn that the world welcomes and protects them.
We humans usually get it right by sacrificing ourselves for our children.
That's why most of us miss the refuge of our lost childhood. If only we could go back....

This song reminds me of my family when they were all alive and well. Every Christmas I listen to this song and just cry. It's both happy and sad. It truly is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. I try my hardest to keep those dearly departed alive in my memory so they will still be with me, in some way, forever.
