How to fix The Sims 2 + Expansion packs

How I spent a day, fixing The Sims 2 so it works with all of its expansion packs, and so the pc won't restart when you try.

Try real life, its graphics are pretty good ;)

Don't know, the expansion packs don't update the graphics in any way that I know of, you'd probably want to look for a mod.

Or look more towards sims3.

Hey can you please help me? every time i go onto the sims 2, i pick a neighborhood and before i can even pick a house or move ANYTHING at all, it freezes! all i can move is the mouse but thats it! and i havent played sims 2 in forever and i miss it sooo much! please help! :)

Do you have atleast the minimum system requirements? if you don't have enough RAM then that may be the issue.

does this fix "please ensure the sims 2 any ep disc is is in the drive select ok and restart the application"?

I bought apartment life and freetime, but when I put the disk in the drive, autorun doesn't appear, and when I go to do it manually, it doesn't recognise the disk. I've been surfing the web, and a lot of other people are having the same problem. Any advice for fixing this? I have Windows 7 btw. :)

I have a problemn this wasn't happening yesterday

whenever I try to play the sims (The disk I use for it is Mansion and Farden stuff) It says to put in the original disk and not the copy (1000) is what it says x.x I don't know what it means since it's the original disk I have and I was using it yesterday with no problemns. ANy Idea?

@JackOfBlades434 right click sims 2 :click troubleshoot compatiblility it detects issues then,click try reccommended settings this might show up: settings applied : windows comppatibility mode: windows XP (service pack 2 or service pack 3) then click start the program......... HOPE IT HELPS!!!

Can you help plzz... when i try to install my Fun With Pets expansion it wont show anything up... when i try to install my Best of Business expansion and it shows up and says its a blank disc.. im too afraid to try my University Life Collection disc.. plz help?

Im having a problem downloading sims 2 free time.when i try to install it ,it will only go up to 50 percent and it was tell me if i want to to retry to install it again.When i re install it ,it does the same thing so i just cancel it. could you help me please!!!!

haha i dont have this problem but if anyone knows how to fix mine please tell me !!! okay so heres the problem i get ready to play the game i open the launcher thing and its fine but then it says please insert the original sims 2 fun with pets collection cd ! and im just like wtf it is the real game and it always does that if i buy a different game maybe it will work ?? i dunno but if i un install the game then re-install it do u think it will work please help !!!!! hahaha thankies
