The Vrondi's Eyes

A mage rode forth from Karse one day, a-fleeing for his life
He bore his staff beside his ancient sword and jeweled knife.
He made a camp with in a grove where much to his surprise,
A drift upon a sea of mist he saw a thousand eyes.

Eyes, wide unblinking eyes
As blue as the sky.
No mage can pass our borders
And escape the Vrondi's eyes.

A dark and wicked sorcerer who'd made a bloody pact
Came on a sleeping holding and the folk, there in attacked.
No sooner did he weave his spell and roused their anguished cries
Then all but once he felt the glare of disembodied eyes.

Eyes, wide unblinking eyes
As blue as the sky.
No mage can pass our borders
And escape the Vrondi's eyes.

A witch of doubtful breeding and a crude eclectic taste
Fled from the executioners across the trackless waste.
But Valdemar was aware that witch quite suddenly grew wise,
She cursed the day she felt those unrelenting eyes.

Eyes, wide unblinking eyes
As blue as the sky.
No mage can pass our borders
And escape the Vrondi's eyes.

So if you deal in magic better watch your step my friend,
There's risk for you in Valdemar which you can't comprehend.
The Vrondi search for magery, they are the Heralds' spies
And nothing can elude their vigilant, un-resting eyes.

Eyes, wide unblinking eyes
As blue as the sky.
No mage can pass our borders
And escape the Vrondi's eyes.

Eyes, wide unblinking eyes
As blue as the sky.
No mage can pass our borders
And escape the Vrondi's eyes.

  • while i like the song the music video leaves a lot to be desired. looks like youre using the same pictures in the same sequence for several things

  • @HeraldAlastriel Yes i repeated my favorites it is very difficult to find pics for Vanyel and they are almost all fan art. I really was just bored when i did this i usually don't add but one pic for the background through out the whole song.

  • omg thank you for this <3 I love The Last Herald Mage, though all the books are kind of depressing

  • @KattraBlake Cool i guess i will learn more when i read the books i just bought about 250 books a whole bunch of them were forgotten realms books, dragon lance, and Mercedes Lackey, with a couple other series thrown in i haven't started reading any of them yet though.

  • @KitsuneOokamiYasha lol it Magic's Price it says they are not very smart. An in another book they are described as eager to please like puppies. They are also part of the truth spell because that can't stand the mental/emotional emanations of falsehood. it says the bit about the truth spell in Magic's Promise.

  • @HegemonOfEarth You're right, but theres more. After the Vrondi discovered a mage in Valdemar's boundries, they were suppose to alert the Herald mages to the fact that someone besides a Herald mage was doing magic, when the Herald got the information they would release the Vrondi from watching that person. But since there was no more Herald Mages (until Elsbeth) after Vanyel's death, the Vrodni would continue to watch the strangers until they left Valdemarain land or went mad.

  • @MsCatstaff So it is i guess this is what i get for not double checking the lyrics that i got off the internet. Glad you like the song.

  • @KitsuneOokamiYasha I'm really happy to have found this song and others from the Shadow Stalker album up here. However, you've made one mistake in the lyrics... it's "WIDE unblinking eyes, as blue as the sky," not white unblinking eyes. After all, how could white eyes be as blue as the sky? Anyway, thanks again for uploading this one!

  • @reighost Yea i think it was too and yes amusing but it also would make me paranoid that something would be watching me in shower. I have always thought the Vrondi is basically the consciousness of past mages so yeah i would be really paranoid about that lol. *shifty eyes* Every time i listen to that song i swear i am being watched.

  • When i first read about the Vrondi i found it hilarious! Imagine an enemy Mage casts a small spell, any spell, and instantly has about about a thousand Vrondi staring at him. Vanyel for the win i think the Vrondi was his idea in the first place XD
