The broken promises are usually just delayed. Predictions are a tricky business. Hopefully tablet computers will help with the paperless office concept. For most of these predictions, the software still has to get a lot smarter (humans won't). Social resistance takes longer. Businessmen crow about how efficient business is compared to government, but it's not true. They're very slow to adapt, and the over-fixation on short-term profitability only makes it worse.

I'm pretty sure Google has figured out the syncing issue just fine. I've never lost a single contact, calendar event, document, email, etc. in the syncing process. It's all just right where it should be, no more no less.
