Roselle Park, NJ Red-Light Safety Cameras Catch Horrific Red-Light Running Collision

This collision took place on 6-29-12 at approximately 5:28 AM.

Roselle Park implemented its red-light safety camera program in May 2011.Data shows improvement in dangerous driving. Since the program's start, red-light running violations have decreased 47% at this intersection. However, as the video shows drivers remain at risk.

An analysis of the Roselle Park program found that ninety-four percent of the vehicles issued a violation have not received a second indicating a high level of compliance with the program and a measurable change in driver behavior.

No fatalities occurred.

I was at that intersection not even a half hour before that. I remember seeing that on the news earlier his summer and saying to myself, "Holy shit, i was just there"

So it's okay to run red lights if you're not drunk? It's a huge issue. I saw two people run red lights that were red for over 10 seconds. They were doing something other than driving, probably texting. Thankfully this idiot didn't nail someone in their driver side door, or there would have been a death.
