This little "jig" tune created by Turlough OCarolan [1670 - 1738] is very popular among session groups. The term "Planxty" is something that Turlough and others came up with that is believed to be a corruption of the Irish phrase, "phlean on ti" meaning "from the house of." RSully from Fairbanks, Alaska suggested I play it on the diatonic "G" harp, and I'm glad he did. It's a great little tune, and not that hard to play with the harmonica, once you get the beat down. Visit http://www.kelticdead.com for this and other traditional Celtic tunes for the harmonica.
