The writers of this movie are so real that they used a Bob Dylan quote at the end when Malick says "I'm just a pawn in their game"... This movie is full with sad reality glimpses of most of America's campuses .. I'm black and have never experienced such racism as I currently do in College. It's just sad that when we were kids color didn't matter, but now, every one is in his own clan....I hate this, and am leaving America for a better place as soon as I graduate!

@Yaminah7 Point taken. But this movie had to get to a point within 2 hrs. of story telling.

Who knows what Remy was being put thru the entire semester?

I'm not at all approving of what Remy did but to put it bluntly;

Letting minorities get away with bad behaviour will NOT make things even for all the times they were punished for things they DIDN'T do.

I really did sympathise with all the Black characters in this movie...except Fudge.

There was just things about him that made me boil.

This movie was not based on just black and white, that was a big part of it, but it touched on rape, sexuality, blacks dealing with blacks in positions of authority, police brutality, and cant think of anything else...

@iamemjar I do not believe that the bullying pushed him to be a skinhead, not that alone. I believe that he was bullied, and that may have pushed him to the edge, but he did not have a group to belong. He came in the door not wanting to play pool with the Jewish guy, and I am not sure what other "group" the other guy belong to, however he turned them down when they were trying to befriend him. When he when to the party, his "own" people that he tried to fit in with brushed him off.

Hatred itself is a sickness that looks for convenient scaprgoats to vent its misery on.

And colour is one of the easiest targets to attack.

Being white never made me immune to the horrors of life.

I seriously mean it when I say my experiences could have made a racist of me, but I chose the higher road and I will respect my fellow man but I can't tolerate the fools.

If you'd take a look at the bigger picture you'd see that the White race is a Global minority and that there are areas of the world where hatred and prejudice still abound and not a white man in sight to blame it on.

African, Persian and Asian nations will persecute each other for subtle ethnic differences that WE might not see but THEY do!

It's not always the White mans fault and sometimes the minorities bring their strife opon themselves.

Not because of their colour, but because arrogance and stupidity are HUMAN conditions, color notwithstanding!
