A few hundred activists demonstrated outside the Minneapolis Office of the FBI on Monday, September 27th, in response to the FBI's raid the Friday before of an office and six homes of members of the "Anti-War Committee" and other peace and social justice groups which have actively protested against the wars and war crimes.
David Rovics wrote this fitting song: "How Far Is It From Here to Nuremberg?" (available at www.davidrovics.com)
Pastor Martin Niemoller made this fitting statement:
They came first for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.
Good to see people standing up to this blatant harassment. I hope that these FBI demonstrations get the message across, but I do worry though that the feds are just getting started with their campaign of repression.
