Tellefsen (1823-74) was a Norwegian pupil of, and assistant to Chopin. His own piano works use forms favoured by his master (mazurkas, nocturnes etc.) but show influences of Nordic folk music, and as such, have surprising pre-echoes of Grieg's nationlist style.
