Some highlights of the first half of the match between the Irish Warriors/"Green Machine" vs South African (RSA) Buffaloes.

Played in wet conditions at TEAC Oval in Port Melbourne during the 2005 Australian Football International Cup Aussie Rules tournament in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

The game also features ex VFL/AFL player Brian Stynes, brother of Brownlow medallist Jim Stynes, playing for Ireland.

  • i rekon if we invest in afl in overseas and stuff like that i rekon it could be as big as soccer if we keep pushing the sport, i mean common how much better is afl than soccer

  • I think there ought to be more international play... if the AFL promoted it a bit more, it could catch on pretty well in North America. As a non-Australian though, I think that the AFL ought to promote the game internationally under a different name (for example, association football is called "football" in countries where it is dominant but "soccer" elsewhere to avoid confusion with other games called football). I think something along the lines of "ausball" would be appropriate internationally
