  • Takk for sharing with us about your bunad. It's gorgeous! wish I had one. I live in the U.S.A. but I'm 100% Norwegian--my ancestors came from Ostfold, Hedmark & Telemark--so I'm not sure which bunad I would pick! Your solje is lovely, too. (I love solje and collect it.) You mentioned the 'everyday bunad.' Do you know if they wore any solje with the everyday bunad? Again, thank you for your video. It was really interesting.

  • @NorskyGal They would usually use a smal sølje ob the top of their shirt to close it.

  • can you have different variation of bunads from the same region, or do they have to be completely standardized to remain 'authentic'?

  • @seminolePP You can have different variations, but they have to be authorised by some official people in norway to be considered as a bunad. There are more than 100 different ones in norway

  • The bunads are awesome!

I'm have been learning norsk since the start of the year, I am thinking of visiting and maybe moving to Norway one day.

    Hilsen fra Dale i Australia!

  • I hope to visit Australia one day because it seems to be such a lovely country :)

  • @rixtmix The sunshine coast is nice, you should try there when you come over.

  • @NorskyGal The telemark bunad is super pretty. I recommend looking at this page: norskflid (DOT) no/bunad/bunader/

  • @rixtmix Thanks for helping me out. It is actually really hard to find any reference material regarding bunads. Lucky I found this video, looks great on you!
