#1 train entering the South Ferry Terminal in March 2008. This station has been replaced in 2010 by a new 2 track stub end terminal.

  • ooo k i see now. thanks

  • The chains are on the movable gap-filling platforms. When the train stopped you can see the gap-filler go out.

  • wow why are their chains at the right of the station?

  • If you really want loud and screetchy, get a video of a No. 5 train coming around the even-sharper inner loop during non-rush hours (and if you're going to do it before the new station opens, you've probably only got 1-2 weeks left to do it).

  • yeah south ferry station is pretty much the crapiest station in nyc... but good thing there gonna replace it

  • I was sitting there like, are those doors gonna open with that huge gap? I had no idea such a system was in use anywhere.

  • The new south ferry station will open this December (2008).

  • Actually the new south ferry station with straight platforms will be opened until February 2009.
