TV tropes is a website that discusses both trends and cliches in media. It started out with TV only, but has expanded to include video games, literature, etc. It's really awesome, google it and check it out. This link is from the page "Serious Business" - when some activity is taken far more seriously than it should be. In this case, the soup.

Some were surprised at the time that Miller seemed so young after so long. Well, she only 14 when she started acting in the late 30s, though she said that was her secret.

I remember the outrage for cutting a hole in those magnificent floors ... where Fred Astaire and Ginger once danced.

Does anyone know if the costume she's wearing (the glitzy one of course) is a Bob Mackie design?

When I was in dancing class, my teacher said my legs were just like Ann Miller's. She was ex Royal Ballet and was very sparing with compliments, no self esteem movement in those days! Unfortunately, I had no talent to go with the nice legs....
But I always remembered that nice compliment because Ann Miller was my favorite dancer in the movies.

The first one.....Lawlor the Installer - I had to pull my DVD's out and look! The episode is Double Drick, in case you have them, too. He was also on there a few other times but using different names. I always thought he was funny.

Wasn't he Lawlor the Installer? Or was it Peter Greeder, the Meter Reader?

Easily the most memorable and best TV spot of my lifetime; and I'm 63. Annie was my favorite on the late night movies on WFAA, mid-60's. Those legs! And in fishnets, even! What a beauty; and so much tap talent.
