Congressman Lungren talks about the absence of medical litigation reform in major health care reform legislation offered by the Majority in the Senate and House. Doctors from California's Third District have discussed with Congressman Lungren the unnecessary costs in the health care system due to the practice of defensive medicine out of concern of being sued.

  • Okay then - How much is your eyesight worth to you? I want a fucking number NOW!!!!! Put up or shut up on Torte reform which is only 2% of the ENTIRE cost of health care in this country. By the way, was your father forced to become a doctor?

  • Hey Kipp, if you don't think this is a factor, talk to me father, a family physician for 30 years. He has a record that's 100% clean, yet paid up $150 grand per year in malpractice insurance, until FLORIDA CAPPED LIABILITY LAWSUITS!

  • This is a non-issue - Penalties are NOT the reason insurance costs are rising. The 0.46% (the percentage paid out in damages) of the ENTIRE cost America pays out in healthcare is as insignificant as this lawmaker's message - Thus the EMPTY HALL! Let's focus on the real cost - GREED, and the lack of a non-profit system. No wonder the GOP has been rendered as useless as the shit-filled, rotting corpse of John Wayne.
