The Theater of Sand of Sergey Nazarov.
On March 8th, 2007 at the Moscow Youth Theatre the artist and light-director Sergey Nazarov presented his project The Theatre of Sand for the first time on public.
The project was created as an idea of combination sand-painting skills and art of theater. Since then The Theater of Sand performes independent sandy shows as well as there are perfomances, which involve different theatrical and musical groups and actors.
The art of sand-painting exists since ancient times. Nowadays with help of technical equipment and different modern gadgets it came up to the new level. The hands of the artist move sand over the surface of the illuminated glass, and the camera, which is placed on the top, translates the image to the screen. The uniqueness of the sand show is that the sandy painting is being created in real time in presence of public. Pictures, overflowing one over another, form different stories.
