The Black & Latino Literary Salon, a special invite-only event WNYC will be holding this Wednesday, September 29th at 6:30pm. Guests include Bernice McFadden, whose latest book Glorious was recently reviewed on All Things Considered: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128626809.
Other guests include Dahlma Llanos-Figueroa, author of Daughters of the Stone and event hosts Patrik Henry Bass (Essence magazine) and Femi Oke, senior correspondent for WNYC's The Takeaway. This conversation-in-the-round is inspired by the informal Sunday literary and jazz salons that took place during the Harlem Renaissance. Attendees are invited to participate in a discussion on the topics that shape and redefine the Black and Latino literary communities today.
