Y'know, seeing this again, I remember its from that show Evangelion. Thing is, I didn't watch it and I don't care for the plot anyway. I just like this one scene here.
It has something...like a 'final battle' feeling to it that is tragic, and yet so very brave and sad at the same time.

Whoa...that..was...I can't find the words for that. And the animation? It was as if I was watching a promo SRW game demo. Perfectly brilliant! I wish I could make special effects and graphics like that. How in the world do u do it? I must know!
