Hello..what do you expect when you pay guys $10.00 an hour to guard a MULTI-MILLION dollar operation that is a target for terrorism? You only get professionals when you pay for them and wackenbutt will sign a multi-million dollar contract every year, but NOT pay the security guys what they deserve. If you were to pay them $30.00 an hour and manage a normal work schedule, you would not have ANY issues like this, but we all know only the big wigs should make a good living with no responsibility!

OK - first of all, we don't get paid minimum wage or even $10 an hour...it's well beyond that. I spent 26 years in law enforcement and decided to work at a G4S contract nuke plant as a retirerment job. I work with a fine bunch of folks - either curent or retired law enforcement, current or retired military, or just plain solid people. Sleeping on the job means instant termination..I lnow, because I now am a union official.Just thought you all should know...

i fully agruee to what whackennut is doing or have done you you sign your paper work and other things to get your permits and you get hired on with a company like that you pretty much give up a normal sleep time and there is no sorry or anything for those officers to be alsleep.On this point i back whackennut for there decission. If you fall asleep as a gaurd you should have choose something elsa to do other then be a security gaurd or officer.

No idea how old this footage is, but Wackenhut periodically loses facilities like this to other guard contractors but gets them back in about three years. Nothing REALLY changes and any change talked about is just lip service.

here is the funny part that they did not touch on but not trying to lesson the fact they should NOT be sleeping. but outside of the plant there are 2 stages of guards the first set does a search of ANY vehicle and checks ID"s. then the second set does a ID and under vehicle check for explosives. and they have orders to shoot to kill if any vehicle does not stop. however the guards inside should be ready to go at a moments notice. one way or the other the guards napping should be fired

Yeah the government picks the cheapest bidder to protect "high terrorist" targests that make at the most 15 dollars an hour. Check out wackenhut's sit to see the wages for armed/unarmed officers....you need about two jobs to make ends meet. Also, why wouldn't a fellow guard help out his buddies and wake them up? The man who chose to videotape for an hour put that place at risk just the same as those who were sleeping. What a douche.
