Asleep in the back is by far my favorite Elbow album, Scattered black and whites. Gorgeous.

@readbtwnlines i would actually say it's the perfect staying in love song, it's unconditional love, love that survives everything even death. I think this is the best way i have heard love explained ever

The perfect falling in love song... so touching

@arttsepp I agree completely...although I used to love Oasis...after discovering the likes of Elbow and Radiohead...they just seem slightly egghhh. They don't excite me in the way Elbow do...I suppose there's nothing particularly amazing about them whereas Guy Garvey really does has the voice of an angel.
Asleep in the Back is definitley my favourite album...i'm suprised your friend hasn't taken to it yet...it seemed to be the easiest of their albums to get into for me.

@MelPullThePin , Definitely (not maybe) better than Oasis, although I like Oasis as well and these are completely different bands and not really comparable in that way, but at the end of the day I would choose Elbow record with me to an island. Elbow is far more creative and original and hugely underrated band. I recently introduced my friend deeper into Elbow and he's beginning to love it. He didn't although like asleep album (not just yet!) thinking it was too experimental. My favourite album.

@ 0:39 is that a hohner lx250g?

Elbow are by far the greatest band to come out of manchester since The Smiths. And before anyone says it; no, I didn't forget about Oasis and yes, I still think Elbow are better :)
