You dont need to have QB and the Quickbooks company file on the same pc as the POS Server installation/file, in order to do a Financial Exchange.
If Qb is installed on another wkstn, which is also a POS client wkstn, and the POS server is elsewhere on the network, you can use REmote Data Sharing to accomplish the daily financial exchange

Hey. I dont think the RDS works like that, if it is that far away. Unless you can set up some kind of virtual network, like remote into the office from the mall thru terminal server or Remote Desktop. I use a VPN connection to plug into the servers at work. In this case though, you wouldnt use RDS. You would just use the regular finanical exchange in POS, as from the laptop at the mall, you would be remoting into a computer at the office 30 miles away, and operating POS there.

Awesome POS to accounting financial exchange video! Do you know how to make POS update the accounting software if they are not local to eachother? I have a problem where we have an office where all of our accounting and such is done and we have a kiosk in a mall (30 miles away) where we use the POS. If you can give me any help I'd sure appreciate it!
