  • rich202100,

We are using a home made rack and pinion steering mechanism. Purchase a length of rack and a pinion gear from mcmaster.com and weld up a housing for them.

Stay tuned, we are close to unveiling our new and improved version of the go kart with a 425cc motorcycle engine and a 6 speed transmission

  • Yes, homemade from the ground up. The steering wheel and seat are from a Yerfdog go cart. We are working on some upgrades, 425cc, 5 speed engine, larger front tires, slightly wider wheel base, heavier front shocks. To samram13: the shocks on the rear have been on there since day one with no modification. They work perfectly.

  • Snorkle. lower end is connected to the air intake of the carburetor. It helps to keep the dust out of the carb.

  • get a bigger sprocket i have have a 72 tooth sprock on a 8hp goes like 50 mph~

  • @drugguy12

Unfortunately, the go cart is too heavy to be pulled by an 8 hp engine with a higher gear ratio than what I have which is 8:1. We have the remedy. I bought a Suzuki GS425 with the intention of using the engine and transmission. Just got the motorcycle running yesterday. It didn't take too much work considering it has not been run in 20 years.

  • @fatelety,

Not very fast. Maybe 35 mph, but we have a two cylinder motorcycle engine that we plan to install soon.

  • love it i want one

  • hey im not sure if anyone has mentioned this or if you noticed but the rear shocks are not mounted n-line with the swingarms pivot axis. this could lead to binding and potential shock destruction if you hit a considerable bump. other than that very nice. good machine
