From the album 'Butterfly House' released on 12th July 2010.

Lyrics:

Inside the Butterfly House
The wind blows in
From the pier
The Punch and Judy stand
Before you, then it disappears

I dim the lights
And tell your fortune
We'll be there soon

In the Butterfly House

Back to the sea
A ship comes in
To a half moon town

Hear the towers fall
And watch dreamland
Burn to the ground

I dim the lights
And tell your fortune
We'll be there soon

In the Butterfly House

Long ago
When the music played
From the steeple
To the bay
Time went by
In the warm summer sky
As we walked
Free of loneliness and doubt

In the Butterfly House

  • "The seaside was magic,

watching the tide dribbling mysteries of foam,

exploring the weird alien worlds of tidepools and comics.

And then at night, the funfair"

  • as i begin to think music is finaly dead, with no money going to REAL music, and money only in mtv, radio one and x factor, i get a ray of hope, a glimmer from the past from one of the greatest bands ever to truely reach me.

    THE CORAL ARE BACK!!!

  • 8459 hits already wow what a great song there is such an interest in this song from the fans i think the coral can still release it as a single with b-sides id buy 10 of them for friends and family i know they'd love this perfect breezy summers song its genius the vocals and harmony's along with the 6 or 7 changes are amazing and so interesting i love this track im going to give it song of the month by a country mile.

Mate, music is never dead, it's just hidden behind the rubbish spoonfed to the public by the media. You just need to know where to look.

The Coral - great band, great example

  • amazing... :)

So basically what you're saying is that you can't appreciate a band unless they have in some way evolved an existing genre?

Coral play a style of music, it may not be innovative but have they ever claimed it to be? It would appear narrow minded to suggest there is no merit in their homage. After all, they have hardly picked the most commercially viable genre to take inspiration from.

  • it's just not weird enough, i miss bill r j
