In quegli anni David era avanti di almeno 20 anni.A parte la scrittura lucida e schizoide allo stesso tempo, il suo ego si espandeva come una galassia. Questa è una delle più riuscite composizioni intrise di paranoie metropolitane anzi universali visto che David profetizzava lucidamente 30 anni fa una società degradata e ormai paranoica.

For my one and only Music Theory course, at uni, when other people all did analyses of classical pieces, I analysed this. I'm TERRIBLE at music theory, and spent two weeks writing that paper (as opposed to my usual two hours). It was a labour of love.

'Till the sun drips blood on the seamy young knights, who press you on the ground, while shaking in fright' -- who writes lyrics like that, other than Bowie? It's so dark, and full of the 'feel' of hopelessness in prostitution!
