...I was hoping that these people getting together would bring something unexpected out of this Prokofiev, but no such luck, they are not doing a damn thing, maybe I need to do some more growing up, right?...

Saw Ivo play the Prokofiev 3rd with the LSO (w/Abbado), oh, around 1986 or so.. Phenomenal! I miss those days.. :)

What an admirable conductor, this Ozawa. And as for the soloist, we can hear him on the way to becoming the incomparable Ivo that he is - and i think hes always been.
-
What a pianist he used to be!

absolutely breath taking. i can see why martha adores him.

@OrangeSodaKing Pogorelich "was" a genius and a well trained marionette
Thank you a thousand times for this great rarity; please upload the rest of it if you have it. For me Pogorelich was the true successor to Horowitz, Richter and Michelangeli, and the greatest pianist of his generation; better no to to think of where he is now :-(

If this is from the RFH,London,(about the right date,i think),I was in the hall and have never really recovered from the experience. Martha didn't turn up,having offered Pogo some of her season.I was furious to miss Martha in her warhorse, until Pogo opened up and all trace of regret instantly vunish. ThankYou VeryMuch for posting, it's every bit as great as i remember!
