Audix D6 Large Diaphragm Dynamic Microphone: Shh!! Big Brother Is Tracking

The Tristan James / Celine Zaphiratos tag-team at Proletariat Productions demos yet another Audix mic. They've already covered the D1 and D2; this time they're taking a listen to the Audix D2, again on a rack tom. The D6 has a large, passive diaphragm and a high SPL-handling, making it an excellent choice for kick drums and bass cabinets, and it's a fraction of the cost of many other similar mics.

  • @BTCSUK it's not the mic that's the problem, it's everything else in the equation that made it sound shit!

  • AYO SHUT THE FUCK UP AND HIT THE DRUM.

  • @kennykensworth I actually thought it sounded like 1 gallon milk carton lol

  • What was this demonstrating, how not to use a D6?

  • sounds like someone bangin' on a 5 gallon plastic bucket!

  • wow i thought the mic just sounded horrible on a tom, but i watched the d1 and d2 vids and they sound like crap too. basically these people have no idea what they are doing.

i can get a better tom sound out of a nady. : (

  • that rack tom doesn't sound like a rack tom, more like someone tapping the bottom of a empty plastic jerry can...

  • the best tuned tom ever!!!! omg... what a review...

  • I don't think a cardioid mic would sound that good being so close to the head unless you want a deadened disco sound.
