Baseball is the third most popular team sport in the world after soccer and basketball. it is much more likely to become more popular worldwide than football which is not close to having anything worldwide like the world cup for soccer, the olympics for basketball, or the world baseball classic for baseball. I like it more than soccer or basketball but the rest of the world doesn't.

baseball is the most popular recreational sport in the us. Little league, high school, and adult teams add up to a much higher number then soccer, football, or basketball.

There is no way soccer is the most played in the us. Most rural towns in america still dont even have soccer teams but i guarantee they have a football, baseball, and basketball team.

Soccer is the most played. Most rural towns don't have very big populations anyway. Kids only start playing other sports seriously when they reach High School.

so your saying, if i walk into a school right now and say who wants to get out of class and play basketball or soccer, you think more kids will want to play soccer....dude there is no way..it only makes sense Why is basketball and football so popular, because everyone played it or wishes they could play it.

For one, in America the NFL has become far more popular than basketball. Basketball is still mostly played by inner city black kids because it doesn't require large open spaces or much equipment. For kids to play soccer they also don't need much equipment and there is less chance of serious injury than if they were playing American football. Therefore kids play soccer more than any other sport. It's not watched on TV because it's not in your culture and because the MLS is of such a low standard.

Its still the most popular sport in America, and we might watch "soccer" or footsie if there is absolutely nothing else on. I know its the most popular sport in the world, but not to Americans, and we know that pisses everyone off.

No one is the slightest bit interested in the fact that americans suck at football and thus constantly attack the sport.

On the other hand yanks are torn apart by the fact that no one cares about steroid sports like baseball or gridiron.

NFL spent millions on NFL euorpe and lost every penny, football never loses money it always grows as a sport.

In the Uk we watch gridiron and play gridiron less than you yanks play our sport of football.

Dealt with.
