  • 48 years ago today my father flew one of those at the Bay of Pigs.

    Sweet sounds. Great video.

  • Thanks a lot ;-)

  • Kjellern - In another U-tube vid. featuring (Yak 3) the airshow announcer states "..sounds like that could be considered useful as antidepressants.." Your little production here has the same effect :) I guess we all need a little doppler shift, now and then (:) Thanx!

  • You are welcome ;-)

  • Great videos Kjellern.

  • Thanks ;-)

  • I've watched this video so many times. I absolutely love it. Just picture being a german during the war and being able to hear that power and not see it coming in. Awesome. I think i'll watch it again and with the volume up loud!!!!

  • i read somewhere that both sides used the A-26 at the bay of pigs....can anyone confirm that?

  • @lander4545

Let me conclude on this note. The A-26 is a cool airplane with a great history and it makes a great noise. Props to those who served, fought and sacrificed and to those who keep them flying so that you and I can enjoy these echoes of history.

  • @jakob252 The propeller propels air currents around and about the airframe in a clockwise direction. The airstream strikes the left side of the stabilizer and rudder, yawning the nose of the airplane to the left! A left turning tendency results fron the FACT that the descending propeller blade takes a bigger bite out of the air than does the ascending blade, which is on the left!WW11 pilots used this phenomenon to there advantage in a dogfight which allowed them to OUT TURN a German ME-109.

  • @jakob252 In twin engine planes the torque of the engine causes a left rolling tenency. For each and every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. As viewed from the cockpit, the crankshaft on an American-made engine rotates clockwise. The opposite reaction is for the airframe to roll to the left. Gyroscopic precession from the rotation of the crankshaft causes the airplane to yaw (turn) to the left........................

  • @jakob252 WOW! Another pathological lier on Youtube! And I'm a flight engineer for NASA! LMAO! The Supercharger used in the A-26 Invader's Pratt & Whitney engine is a single stage single speed centrifugal type unified with throttle via AEC automatic engine control. You can hear the supercharger in the video you moron!

  • @lander4545

And that supercharged thing you claimed? Still bullshit -as is the rest of your story. As you are clearly not a pilot you don't know that you cannot reduce the radius of a turn by decreasing the power on the inboard engine. Possible in theory if you performed a yaw only turn, but not possible in real life. This from a pilot, historian, aviation museum curator, historical society president, aviation author, etc.

  • @jakob252 It's called "feathering" the props! Partial power on one engine and full throttle on the other, turning on a dime all the while firing the 50 calibers! This is documented in many WW11 publications by the pilots thenselves! This maneuver was also why the P-38 Lightning was able to shoot down so man ME-109'S! Next time try doing some historical homework before drinking your cheap beer and spouting off on Youtube about facts that you know nothing about!!

  • @lander4545

Gotta call bullshit on ya. Not supercharged engines and no chance in hell of out turning a fighter like the ME-109.

  • The A-26 was the only aircraft built and flown in WWII that also saw combat in Korea and Vietnam and many still fly today.

  • I could only imagine what it would be like to load one of those. ex load cheif. 86 to 97 . rock on bombers
