Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne - "Tanqueray" 07 26 08

Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne, born in Spokane WA, was a child prodigy on piano who spent his early years in New Orleans, along with stops in San Francisco & L.A. Luckily for us he's now a resident of Vancouver. Here's Kenny with his great band doing a Johnnie Johnson tune "Tanqueray" during a recent "Live" performance at The Yale. This guy is just great!! He plays in the true blues/boogie piano tradition and that's too bad he's unknown to the lots. Even Johnnie Johnson was quite underrated until his last days...

Thank you BluesCanuck for posting a version of "Tanqueray" bet posted on You-Tube. The Blues Boss's version is good, but I still like song's author "Johnny (Be Good) Johnson's" original version best.
