Strikes were plentiful as the great Earl Anthony took on one-time PBA winner Sam Flanagan for the title at the Fresno Open on the PBA's 1979 Summer Tour. CBS Sports Spectacular. Ken Squier on the call. (Thanks, tgp3, for his name. I never would have known.) Dave Davis on color. Part 1 of 2.

  • @tgp3 yeah what a douche

  • I cant believe it. I was there and watched Roth come from out of nowhere and bowl that 300 and BARELY squeek into the finals, by I think it was like 2 pins, only to bowl 255 and lose by one pin.

It was one of the most amazing bowling things I've ever seen. Just like seeing it here on youtube!

  • Wow, I've never seen anyone bowl that slowly!

  • That's Ken Squier. Famous as the lead lap by lap commentator for the Daytona 500 and other NASCAR races for CBS.

  • Excellent post!
