  • Wait- I'm confused. Will the honey/olive oil mix lighten dark hair or darken light hair?

  • The Honey/Olive oil mix is isaid to "Lighten" dark hair tones over time. The Honey/Jojoba mix is said to "Darken" lighter hair tones over time.

  • @MuZiKLoVeR412 i hate to break it to you but im not shima. And i wonder why it did not work for you hmmm. I have 4a hair and i LOVED it. I guess it does not work on biracial hair because indian hair LOVES oils. I guess it was just not the right combination of oils for you. If you still want to give it a try i would say use different types of oils. Such as coconut and jojoba oil.

  • @Vlgirl1 Now I'm saying....in the long run, dont try this if you have multicultral hair. I'm part indian, I have a little bit of curls and a little bit of waves but have the african-american thickness and sometimes the kinks. I wanted to try this because I wanted my hair a little softer too. I tried this and it made my hair SUPER kinky after the 2nd day. :( Shima you are an inspiration but I have to give this treatment a thumbs down.

  • Then put the cup of oil in the mug but dont pour the oil in the water. Letsit for 2 min. Then apply oil to hair and sit under a hooded dryer or just leave in your hairl for 30 minutes. Wash out. I had to wash a couple of time to get most of the oil out. Hope this helps!

I used 3 tbsps of olive oil and 3 tbsps of canola oil. However that was a bit too much for me and i have really thick hair so try 2 tbsps of each. Add one tbsp of honey and stir together. Get a mug of water and heat for 1 min.

  • @Vlgirl1 What is the recipe you used because i need it.....bad! lol i wanted to try this and i think this is the greatest thing ever so if you can help that'll be great!

  • I put honey in my hot oil treatment and it has made my hair sooooo soft and soooo shiny. I havent had to moisturize in 3 days! Which is a big step for me considering i moisturize twice a day. This was my first hot oil treatment ever and im sooo happy with the results. If anyone wants the recipe just do one of those @ things and direct your comment towards me.

  • I have used the honey/olive oil mix on my son who is growing out his hair. He has very thick hair and it has helped soften his hair and the twists I apply have so much shine and yes it has lightened his hair which he thinks is cool. Natural hair remedies really do work. Plus it snells good as well

  • @Shimahair21 Hey Shima, I have brown hair but I want it to be a darker brown color, then should I use the honey/jojoba recipe? Will that darken my hair?

  • How often do you use the honey on your hair?
