A speech delivered Friday October 1, 2010, at the Alternatives 2010 Conference at Anaheim California by the award winning author of "Anatomy of an Epidemic...". There will be four parts, the last will include some of the questions and answers. I apologize for the quality of the video, in that I set up in a good place, only to realize it was where the wonderful wait staff needed to pass, and it didn't seem fair to set up a full tripod, and my hands got tired holding the camcorder at times. This talk was during a breakfast keynote, hence the "meal noise". This video is a personal effort and is not an official part of Alternatives 2010. The noise settles down after a few minutes.

The psychiatric system, as well as the medical health care system, in this country is a complete failure. At the end of the day, after multiple instances of poor treatment and patient abuse, everyone wants to get paid. America is a house of games set up to abuse most and benefit a few. Psychiatric patients are fodder.

@murmur5555 The psychiatric system that I experienced in the mid-70's was straight out of the "Cuckoo's Nest", a horror to those put under "Big Nurse's" claws. However, I think it has evolved a bit, in that it now considers PTSD, and other real world trauma experiences, and does now at least some of the time listen to consumers. But, there are many thousands of people who are not getting care that helps them recover, but instead seems devoted to addicting them to dangerous drugs.
