Watch me demolish my childhood home

In 2007 my parents house caught fire and was burnt and wet to a point were it could not safely be repaired. This video shows the damage caused by the fire and the demolition of the house using an excavator.

My condolences to you about your parents' house. It looks like it was a total loss. I've seen the aftermath of a fire at Grace Street in Williamsport, PA, and the house was a total loss. If you haven't heard of Steinbacher Enterprises, Steinbacher Enterprises was the company that demolished the Grace Street house after the fire in which the owner of the house took his own life by committing suicide. How long did it take you to demolish your parents' house?

@kurtdog119 Sad story on Grace Street. I think it took about half a day for the major demo but then we had another day of breaking down the debris and hauling it away.

@sidecrank we should have let it burn to the ground. Fighting the insurance company was a pain. I don't think the fire dept. would have allowed it.

My condolences to you. A house is a place to live but it's still memories despite the fact everyone may have survived the fire.

@garycalgary Thanks. While demo-ing it photos started to fall from above. Apparently a box of photos survived. I gathered them up before finishing and have had them scanned so that I can share them w/ my siblings more easily.

I was on scene that day, and prior to being on scene, I was just going to the store from my doctor to get my prescription filled out, and while on the Susquehanna Beltway, I noticed these flames shooting up violently from the roof of a house! Just as I was walking through the Wegman's parking lot, I saw all this smoke in the parking lot, so I went with my dad to my mom's car which, that day, was a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, and went to the scene. The house is demolished now.
