too much distortion being recorded.

Urgs, I had one back in the 80s (bought new), remember the sound of it now that I hear it again. I still don´t miss that bunch of plastic.

Someone GAVE me a Poly-800. I MUST get this mod done!!

@Qiwolf it is a hybrid - the filters and sound producing hardware are analogue.... but it's usually digitally controlled. Believe it or not, with a bit of work and some VERY well timed use of the mod joystick... it can make noises not unlike to much sought after TB303. It also has a (very basic) step time sequencer on it.
The MKII was a little better, as you had some limited effects on there (delay and chorus I think).... but it's still a nice analogue synth that can great if programmed right.

not sure, but i think the mod permits u to set the filter like on a moog. the filter on the poly-800 can only tweaked incrementally

It's modded.
Great synth sir, but I do not hear moogslaying sounds of any sort ;)

the polly 800 is an analogue synth with digitally controlled oscillators - like a juno but with more voices
