@MasterGame12 No Will does change too. Lyra actually makes him much softer and passionate. Of course yeah the major is in Lyra as she is the main character. Will had always been more independent and stronger since he had to look after his sick mother. But I think he finds the ability to express his feelings a lot more by the end. A lot of males tend to lock up your feelings and not cry and Will learns to let out his feelings in the end.
To tell you the truth, I never even noticed that. You're completely right though, Will does mature in that sense. He's still the same basic character by the end though. You could compare The old Will to the new Will and not really notice the difference all that much, but if you compare the old Lyra to the new Lyra, it's like looking at a totally different character.
Yeah agreed. I think a lot of Lyra's change comes from Will and much of his change comes from her. They are rather opposities to begin with but they are both like a synergy of personalities for each other.
Huh. You know, I never really noticed that the two of them were opposites, but you are absolutely right. Will's quiet and Lyra's loud, Will is honest and Lyra is distrustful........and yet, despite these differences, they make a perfect couple. It's interesting how Pullman managed to fit two completely different personalities together in such a flawless way.
I thought today, the actress who played Lyra in The Golden Compass is now too old to play Lyra in a Subtle Knife movie. They'll have to either start the trilogy again, or cast a new girl to replace her. It sucks, because she WAS the perfect actress for the character.
Well.. I guess ur ryt.. She's perfect. And while I was reading the Subtle Knife, I was imagining Dakota still playing the role and it was very effective.. The filmmakers should have planned this earlier.. They SUCK..!! : )
