For the Montreal Grand Prix in June of this year, Lufthansa sent an A340-600 instead of the usual A330-300. This increase in capacity was to bring Grand Prix participants back to Europe. Watch now as the world's longest commercial aircraft departs Montreal's Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport on runway 24R.

  • All that separates the camera man from the airport is a little wooden picked fence?!?

  • @Imperialscout2 The fence may look small in the video but it's actually 9ft high and constructed of thick wood.

  • A340-642! Very nice. How long does that flight take from YUL - Frankfurt?

  • The flight would take about 7 hours.

  • You make the best videos on YouTube, and I don't say that lightly. You actually make me want to move to Montreal, just for the planes.

(Though I'd have a hard time leaving my hometown of Halifax.)

  • Thanks for the nice comments. I haven't been to Halifax yet but I would like to visit. I would imagine that there are quite a few scenic spots to see.

  • @p9i7 i dont think so

  • The A340-600 was at YUL this summer.

  • Md11 is the best airplane

  • A340-600 is one of my favorite planes, it remembers me in some way DC8-60s.

  • Very long aircraft....

  • I love the camera angle. Looks like a shark in the water.

  • @MrDutchboy75 Take off is long because they use reduced power take off or as its known FLEX take off. These can take off quicker if you go to TOGA power setting!

  • It look like a shark behind the house

  • @bigwill619 true...a lot of it is pilot error

  • @hawkboy000 but airbus has had more recently
